Puccino’s Worldwide exclusively uses Segafredo coffee in its operations which is produced and supplied by the Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group (MZBG).

Fairly Traded Coffee

The fair trade movement was set up with the primary aim to help the world's coffee farmers (who in many instances are small holders or organised in cooperatives around the world) to get a fair price for their harvests in order to achieve a decent living wage.

The MZGB group does not source from these farmers but, instead, grows its own coffee on plantations that it privately owns in South America. They are actively involved in community development, in the building of schools and hospitals and improving the local infrastructure.

So, whereas we are not in a position to state that our coffee is fair trade in the conventional sense of the phrase, our coffee is, we believe, fairly traded and all the farmers and workers who produce our coffee are fairly treated.

MZBG has its own foundation, which subsidiary companies donate to, The Fondazione Zanetti Onlus http://www.fondazionezanetti-onlus.it/ The Fondazione Zanetti Onlus was founded by the Zanetti family with purely humanitarian aims. It has been awarded NPO status. The main objective of the foundation is to provide aid to children from all over the world living in poverty and isolation. One of the first activities undertaken by the foundation was its support for a project based in Burkina Faso, the poorest country in the world.

The initiative, Burkina 2007, is also promoted by Marcello Lippi and focuses on developing agriculture in order to combat malnutrition, which has climbed to 23%. It also plans to build a new hospital to combat childhood mortality, which currently stands at 20% within the first year of life due to meningitis, cholera and AIDS epidemics.

The Fondazione Zanetti also focuses its attention on the local situation, promoting initiatives designed to reduce psychological distress in children. This alarming phenomenon can cause irreversible damage over time.

In order to help it achieve its aims, the foundation is pleased to accept all contributions from public bodies, businesses and individuals who share our beliefs and wish to contribute to the cause.
